Abstract

1447531 Twist tubes; supporting HEBERLEIN & CO AG 31 Oct 1973 [1 Nov 1972 16 Nov 1972] 50641/73 Heading D1D A false-twist tube is held in a cusp of two parallel rollers by magnet means which do not project beyond the end faces of the rollers or through planes tangential to both rollers and parallel to their axes, which comprise at least one permanent magnet in contact with at least one flax-transmitting member and which are mounted on a support positioned between the rollers' axes. Tube 6, Fig. 3a is held by magnet 9, whose direction of polarisation extends transversely of the tube. Flux-transmitters 11, 12 fixed to the magnet have pole pieces 13, 14 whose opposed, parallel faces may be bevelled or formed with circular recesses adjacent the tube. Alternatively, Fig. 4, tubes 6, 6' are held by magnets 9, 9' contacting flux-transmitting member 16 and pole pieces 17, 18. The direction of the magnets polarisation may extend parallel to the tube. Two tubes 6, Fig. 6b, are held in adjoining cusps by magnets 9, 9' contacting flux-transmitters 22-25 having circular recesses adjacent the tubes. The magnets may have opposite directions of polarisation. Each tube may be enclosed in a non-magnetic jacket and have jacks of iron laminations opposite the flax-transmitters. The magnets may be made of aluminium, nickel or cobalt alloys, and may be of square or rectangular crosssection. The flax-transmitters may be of iron.
