Abstract

1446505 Moulding bottle caps DANIEL MONTGOMERY & SON Ltd 19 May 1975 [27 March 1974] 13506/74 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] Moulding apparatus comprises a tubular mould 1 formed with a tapering inner surface 2 along its whole length and a tapered core pin 4 formed with a ring of axial ribs 5 spaced from one another circumferentially, there being an annular gap between the mould and the core pin except at the position of the ring of ribs which present a ring of passages 6 between the spaced ribs. The invention is applied to the making of injection moulded tamperproof bottle closures. The ribs 5 may be salient ribs, as shown, or the core pin may be formed with a ring of axial grooves, the lands left between the grooves forming the ribs.
