Abstract

1446493 Extensible roof; collapsible walls W M A CLAESSENS 15 Jan 1974 [16 Jan 1973] 01833/74 Headings E1A and E1J An extensible roof comprises a plurality of parallel, transversely slidable beams 6 with adjacent pairs interconnected by a pair of gas tight sheets 7, 8 defining gas-tight chambers, and a compressor for inflating the chambers. The beams have runners 13, 14 movable along guide rails 4 and the leading beam 16 is movable by means of an endless chain 19. The roof is received in a housing 9 in the retracted position. The chambers may be inflated with warm air. The building's walls may be of a similar construction, Figure 4 (not shown).
