Abstract

Lighting-torches, non-electric.-In a pyrophoric igniter, the slightly curved, grooved, or roughened striker 9 is connected to a rectangular casing 1 by bars 12, 13, and the spring-pressed pyrophoric material 7 is carried by a rod 5 pivoted within the casing and connected by a telescopic link to a hollow element 2, which is slidably mounted in the casing 1. A spring 10 is inserted within the hollow part 3 of the link so as to bear against the end of the solid part 4 so that, as the element 2 is moved, the spring is compressed until the link and the lever are in alinement, after which the spring 10 causes the lever to move rapidly. The link contacts with two internal stops 14 in the easing during its movement.
