Abstract

1445316 Dyeing cellulose polyester mixtures BAYER AG 13 Feb 1975 [14 Feb 1974] 6153/ 75 Heading D1B Mixtures of cellulose-polyester are dyed by treating the material with a dye liquor containing a l-amino-3-iminoiso-indolenine, a compound containing a heavy metal, a polyester disperse dye, a surface-active compound, and ammonia or a derivative thereof and the development of the phthalocyanine dye and the fixing of the disperse dye is effected by a heat treatment. The polyesters include polyethylene terephthalate and cellulose triacetate. The compounds containing a heavy metal include copper and nickel chlorides, and copper complexes of nitrilotriacetic acid, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, N-methylaminoacetic acid or N-methyl-N-hydroxy-ethylaminoacetic acid. The surface active agents are alkyl- or acylpolyglycol ethers, alkylphenol polyglycol ethers and aralkylphenol polyglycol ethers. The ammonia derivatives include triethanolamine, triisopropanolamine and fatty amides of the general formula RCON(R 1 )R 2 wherein R is an optionally unsaturated C 10 -C 20 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical and R 1 and R 2 are H or C 1 -C 5 alkyl e.g. diethylamine oleate and dimethylamine palmitate and alkyl substituted users e.g. tetramethylurea. A solubilising substance may be present e.g. urea, glycol, diglycol, thiodiglycol, triethylene glycol and ethylene glycol monoethyl ether. The material is preferably impregnated with the dye liquor, given an intermediate drying step and then heated to 180-230‹C for 30-180 seconds. An aftertreatment may be given.
