Abstract

1445041 Heated rollers ROSEMOUNT ENG CO Ltd 13 Jan 1975 [21 Jan 1974] 02647/74 Heading F2U A heated roller comprises an interior chamber 14 partly filled with an evaporable heat transfer liquid and provided with an enlarged diameter portion into which the liquid is thrown by centrifugal force for evaporation by a stationary heater 16, a wick 20 being provided to carry liquid to the upper part when the roller is stationary. The heater may be an electrical radiant heater with a reflector 17 or an inductive heater controlled by a temperature sensor 18. Alternatively the stationary heater may be internal, Fig. 2 (not shown), in an annular recess in the end of the roller, Fig. 3 (not shown) or covered by an extension of the outer surface of the roller, Fig. 4 (not shown).
