Wheels and other tools.-A device for holding a strip of emery cloth, sand paper, or like material comprises a flat plate of metal, wood, or softer material A having secured thereto a handle C and provided near one end with a tapered jaw D adapted to receive a pin or wedge F around which one end of the abrasive strip E has been folded. The strip is bent round the end of the plate and at its other end is engaged by a jaw G similar to the jaw D but movable on the plate. This jaw is attached to two springs H of steel, rubber &c. adapted to be tensioned by a toggle lever J. The plate A may be formed as the arc of a circle; the toggle lever may be replaced by a peg over which the springs are hooked after extension by hand. A strip of soft backing material may beplaced between the plate A and the abrading- sheet and may be held by the grips D, G or by additional grips, or may form a covering for the plate. The sides as well as the ends of the strip may be held by grips; the device may be arranged for operation by power.
