Abstract

1444120 Polyisocyanates containing biuret groups BASF AG 10 Dec 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 57058/73 Heading C2C Stable polyisocyanates containing biuret groups are prepared by reacting one or more aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic diamines with one or more polyisocyanates in such proportions as to give a ratio of NH 2 to NCO of from 1 : 3 to 1 : 100. Preferred aliphatic diamines have the formula wherein X and Y, which may be the same or different, are -CH 2 -, X and Y possibly being attached to each other alternately in different segments or groups and in which n and m are from 0 to 20, their sum being at least 2. The cycloaliphatic diamines preferably have the formula wherein Z is -CH 2 -, -CH 2 CH 2 - or p is 0 or 1 and R and R<SP>1</SP> which may be the same or different are hydrogen, linear or branched C 1 to C 10 alkyl, C 1 to C 10 alkyl ether or halogen.
