Earth-plates. - An earth connexion for dissipating electrical charges primarily makes contact with earth without inductive turns and is in the form of a helix of gradually decreasing radius. The conductor is constituted by a metallic tube, tape or wire bent as shown, the weight per unit length being preferably less towards the lo.ver end. Two or more helices may be joined together at the smaller end.
