Abstract

1442618 Yarn packages RHONE-POULENC TEXTILE 21 Dec 1973 [22 Dec 1972] 59454/73 Heading B8M [Also in Divisions D1-D2] To improve the cohesion of a yarn package with unsupported sides the yarn is wound in the form of crossed spiral wavy turns, the amplitude of the wave being between 1 and 10 mm, and the wave length being between 30 and 200 m,m. The density of the package may be as low as 0.1 times the density of the yarn. The package may have inwardly sloping sides or parallel sides. The pitch of the waves in each turn can be less than, equal to or greater than the diameter of the yarn.
