Abstract

1,174,691. Barbed wire. TINSLEY WIRE INDUSTRIES Ltd. 13 Sept., 1968 [5 Jan., 1968], No. 806/68. Heading E1B. Barbed wire comprises a single length of crimped non-circular section wire 1 and barbs 3 formed by tightly coiling two pointed lengths of wire 4 therearound. The crimping is all in the same plane parallel to the major dimension 2 and its amplitude is less than the breadth of the wire in this plane. The coiled length of barbs 3 is equal to half the pitch of the crimping. The wire is preferably formed by flattening a circular wire but may be oval, rectangular or diamond shaped.
