1442298 Replenishing fluidised beds IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Aug 1973 [1 Sept 1972] 40673/72 Heading B8A [Also in Division B1] A fluidised bed is maintained at a desired level 8 by means of a hopper 5, the outlet of which is situated above an air impervious baffle 7, the baffle and the outlet being dimensioned and positioned such that, a heap of unfluidised material forms on the baffle to prevent further discharge of the hopper when the bed is at the desired level 8, but material flows from the hopper when the bed is below the desired level 8. The hopper and baffle may be combined into a detachable unit.
