Abstract
1442187 Distillation apparatus for organic solvents SPEZIALMASCHINENBAU EISENACH VEB 22 Oct 1973 [5 Feb 1973] 49136/73 Heading B1B An apparatus for regenerating dirt laden organic solvents comprises a distilling vessel 1, (Fig. 1), connected by a pipe 6 to a condenser 11 having a plurality of vertical heat exchanger tubes 15 located at both ends in retaining plates 10, 13 (Fig. 2) by sealing rings 38, a separator 18 for separating the water from the condensate and a condensate collecting tank 37. A temperature sensor 34 in the pipe connecting the separator and collecting tank operates through a controller 36 to actuate means e.g. a valve or switch controlling the heating of the distillation vessel 1. A by-pass pipe 32 including a siphon 33 interconnects the pipe 6 and the tank 37 and, when excessive pressure results in the solvent from the siphon flowing into the pipe 32, the sensor 34 is actuated to interrupt the distillation process.
