Abstract

1441795 Taximeters YAZAKI SOGYO KK 20 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 53894/73 Heading G4T In a taximeter, a train of time-related pulses are generated by an electronic oscillation circuit, the time constant of which may be set to a selected one of a number of predetermined values, so that the frequency of the pulse train is compatible with the tariff in force at any particular time. In the preferred embodiment, the time constant of the circuit, Fig. 1 (not shown), is changeable by means of a manually-operable switch for connecting a selected one of three resistors within the circuit. The pulse train, after shaping and amplification, is used to drive an electric motor. When the taximeter speed is less than a predetermined value, the motor output is usual via reduction gears, a clutch, a cam and lever combination and a pawl and ratchet to drive fare indicating wheels, Figs. 2-5 (not shown).
