Abstract

1441446 Decorating confectionery CADBURY Ltd 4 Sept 1974 [5 Sept 1973] 41724/73 Heading A2B An article of confectionery is decorated by (a) liquefying an edible ink composition by heating (b) before, during or after heating supplying the ink composition to a screen (c) positioning an article of confectionery adjacent the screen (d) forcing the ink through the screen thereby to print on the confection by a screen printing process and (e) allowing the liquid ink to solidify. The ink composition preferably comprises a sugar, milk solids, edible fat and a permitted foodstuff colour, in amounts such that the composition is solid at room temperature but liquid at an elevated temperature. It may additionally contain titanium dioxide or skimmed milk powder as a whitening and opacifying agent, and also an emulsifier.
