Abstract

1441399 Pedal boats H C COX 13 Sept 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 48307/73 Heading B7V A boat comprises a bicycle frame 24 on two floats 10. The handlebars are connected to a bow rudder 22 and the pedals 28a drive a rear sprocket 32 attached to paddle wheels 35 (which may be feathered). The sprocket 32 is mounted on the bottom bracket of the rear part 37 of an additional bicycle frame which is joined to the first frame by a tie 43 and by a bolt through the slots designed to take the rear wheel axles. The two frames may be moved in translations or rotation relative to one another to adjust the tension of the chain 29 or the immersion of the paddles 35. Alternatively the pedals may drive a screw propeller (Fig. 7, not shown).
