Abstract

1441264 Waste outlet for sinks &c. CHARLES EDWARDS PLASTICS Ltd 21 Jan 1974 [20 Jan 1973] 3061/73 Heading A4N A waste outlet for sinks, baths &c. comprises an injection moulded plastics part having a tube 10, grille (14), Fig. 4 (not shown), and a radiallyoutwardly projecting flange 11, and a decorative metal part 18 also having a tubular part 19, a flange 20 and an openwork base 21, the metal part obscuring said flange and extending over said grille at which grille the parts are secured together and contact each other. In one embodiment a stem, (Fig. 4) integral with the grille, extending through an aperture in the metal part and terminating in a head portion 27, holds the metal on to the grille. Alternatively the metal part is secured to the grille by rivets 25, the central portion 22 of the base 21 being countersunk to accommodate the deformed end of the rivet, a resilient sealing ring 26 being provided between flanges 11 and 20. The grille 14 and the metal part 18 each comprise six arms 16 and 23, radiating from central portions 15 and 22 respectively, arms 23 overlying those 16 and having flanges 24 to form channels which each receive an arm 16. A plurality of securing devices may be provided.
