Abstract

1440691 Stoma drainage bags ASTRASJUCO AB 4 Feb 1974 [5 Feb 1973] 4973/74 Heading A5R A bag for receiving secretion and/or solid excrements from open wounds, e.g. ileostomi incisions, comprises a pocket having a front wall 1 with a centrally disposed, circular opening 7 therein, around which opening a skinadhesive material 8 is arranged on the outside of the pocket, and a flap 6, forming an extension of wall 1, for closing said pocket and arranged to be sealed against a wall 2 remote from the opening. Side walls 4 and 5 of the pocket are, each provided with at least one fold line 10 along which each side wall is foldable into the pocket. Walls 1, 2, connected by said side walls, form an angle of up to 90‹ therebetween on unfolding of the side walls. Sheets (21) Fig. 2, (not shown), of an absorbent material are positioned in the pocket, which is made of a thermoplastics material. A removable protecting film 9 is provided on the adhesive material. The walls 1, 2 may be connected by means of a concertina-type base. Wall 2 and/or walls 4, 5 may have small air openings. The flap 6 may be provided with a doublesided adhesive tape along its total length, or it may be sealed to wall 2 at only one point.
