Abstract

1440484 Motor vehicle hybrid drive ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 29 Nov 1973 [30 Nov 1972] 55363/73 Heading B7H A motor vehicle having a hybrid drive comprises an internal combustion engine 33, a dynamo-electric machine 27, and a rechargeable battery 38. The dynamo-electric machine 27 may operate as a generator to charge the battery 38 or as a motor to supplement or replace the drive from the engine 33. The rotor-shaft 26 of the dynamo-electric machine 27 as well as the crank-shaft 32 of the internal combustion engine 33 are both coupled mechanically to a differential gear 12 arranged to drive two halfshafts 16, 17 connected with the drive wheels 10, 11. A clutch 31 is provided between the crank-shaft 32 of the internal combustion engine 33 and the differential gear 12. An additional clutch (39) Fig. 2 (not shown) may be provided between the differential gear 12 and the wheel 11 to permit recharging of the battery when the vehicle is stationary.
