Abstract
1440365 Valves BURGESS MICRO SWITCH CO Ltd 10 June 1974 [2 Aug 1973] 36843/73 Heading F2V A control valve comprises a housing defining a chamber 6 communicating with an inlet 10 via a flow restriction 8, an outlet 12 and a by-pass orifice 16 closable by a valve member 44 via a snap-action mechanism. When the valve member is open, as shown, fluid flows directly from restriction 8 through orifice 16 to a vent 52 thereby creating a negative pressure at the outlet 12. Depression of a button 38 causes member 34 to pivot about anchor member 24 until an arm 30 carrying the valve member snaps downwardly into a position in which the valve member closes the orifice 16, thereby redirecting the fluid from restriction 8 to the outlet 12. The valve member may have a linear or non- linear taper over its length.
