1439160 Hydraulic pump-turbines MOSKOV ORDENA TRUDOV KRAS ZNAMENI INZHENER-STROITEL INST IM VV KUIBYSHEVA 17 July 1973 34022/73 Headings F1C-F1T A rotor of a reversible pump-turbine comprises fixed blades 1 and at least two pivotable blades 2 which are positioned to form continuations of fixed blades during pump operation and are set in an inoperative position during turbine operation. The rotor is thus effectively of larger diameter during pump operation. There may be fewer blades 2 than blades 1, e.g., there may be one blade 2 for every second blade 1. The blades 2 are pivoted by a hydraulic rotary servomotor 13 connected to the control valve by concentric pipes 15, 16 within the rotor shaft 14 and actuating the blades through a ring 10, links 9 and cranks 8. A feedback linkage 21 co-ordinates the pivoting of the blades 2 and guide vanes 5, if the latter are provided.
