Abstract

1438908 Colour television tuoes HITACHI Ltd 21 Feb 1974 [6 April 1973] 7844/74 Heading H1D In the fabrication of the phosphor screen of a slot-apertured shadow mask colour tube by a method involving the optical exposure through the mask of a photo-sensitive coating on the tube faceplate, by linear movement of the light source 13 in the direction of the longitudinal axes of the slots, error in the positioning of the phosphor stripes at the corners of the faceplate, due to the curvature of the shadow mask, is corrected by synchronized oscillation of the correction lens 14. As shown, the two movements are effected by the action of cams. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the correction lens 14 is held stationary, and an additional lens (17), located between the light source and lens 14, is oscillated.
