Abstract

1438140 Mounting control knobs on shafts INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 9 Oct 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 47039/73 Heading F2U A control knob assembly comprises a hub 1 mounted or mountable on a shaft, a member 3 slidable axially in or on the hub via facing surfaces 5, 6 one with a pin 7 engaging a groove 8 of closed loop form in the other having two rest positions 10, 17 for the pin in which the member 3 is retracted and extended respectively, there being a compression spring 4 biasing the member 3 to its extended position, the groove being arranged so that axial reciprocation of the member 3 causes the pin 7 to move only one-way round the groove 8. The hub 1 may include a sleeve 2 having to blank off a hole 31 in a mounting panel a separate flange 32 inside or outside the panel 30. A cup-shaped knob (34), Fig. 3 (not shown), may be mounted for rotation relative to the member 3 and by axial splines on the sleeve 2.
