Abstract

1437954 Cartons JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd 22 Nov 1973 [7 Dec 1972] 56491/72 Heading B8P A sealed carton is opened by tearing a cover 22 along weakened lines 28, 30 whereby double thickness strips 24, 26, 12B, 14B are completely torn away so that upon subsequent cooking in the carton the food is not contaminated by the adhesive. Strips 12B, 14B are turned outwardly before being sealed to the cover 22. The ends and sides are secured together by overlapping tabs and tongue and slot connections. The carton is folded from a blank of stout carton board or a plastics sheet.
