Abstract

1437819 Security door assembly H H A CARL 21 May 1974 [31 May 1973] 26104/73 Heading E1J A security door assembly e.g. for a prison cell door comprises a top rail 21 fixed to two vertical sides, a door 2, means to pivot the door about a vertical axis halfway between the sides of the frame, this axis being near the edge of the door and means for locking the door in two positions 180‹ apart, both positions lying within the plane of the mounting frame. The mounting frame may be attached to the wall 26 by bolts 27. The door 2 is mounted on a vertical shaft (32) pivoted in bearings at the top (location AA) attached to rail 21 and at the bottom (location BB) either attached to rail 22 or in the floor. The door may be locked by the main lock 25 or in the open position by the auxiliary lock 24 and may be provided with a spy-hole 11.
