Abstract

1437523 Recovery of NiSo 4 from waste solutions KAYABAKOGYO KK 2 Oct 1973 [29 March 1973 (2)] 45969/73 Heading C1A NiSO 4 solution is recovered from nickel plating waste solutions by adjusting the pH to precipitate hydroxides of other metals, filtering, passing through a cationic I.E. resin which is then eluted with aqueous sulphuric acid; Ni(OH) 2 is precipitated from part of the eulate, filtered off and added to the rest of the eluate to give a concentrated NiSO 4 solution which may be used in a plating bath. Alternatively, the solution after removal of other metal hydroxides is divided in two, one part being passed through an H-type cationic I.E. resin which is eluted with aqueous sulphuric acid and the eluate mixed with Ni(OH) 2 precipitated and filtered off from the other part.
