Abstract
1436156 Stainless alloy compositions CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 18 Oct 1973 [19 Oct 1972] 48687/73 Heading C7A Metal-to-metal seals are cast from stainless alloys consisting by weight of:- the balance being iron apart from impurities and incidental elements. In examples the castings are heat-treated at 1850-1900‹F, air-quenched, and tempered at 375‹F. The seals are particularly appropriate where high relative speeds occur between moving parts.
