1435841 Thread cutting attachment AB TOOLFIX 4 Jan 1974 [5 Jan 1973] 00383/74 Heading B3N A thread cutting apparatus comprises a mounting device 1 which is connected at its front end to a sleeve 5 which serves to support a chuck holder 12 axially movable within the sleeve and a clampable adjustment sleeve 23 axially movably mounted on the outer side of the sleeve 5 for adjustment of the desired length of thread to be cut, said apparatus having latching means 18 adapted during inward and outward threading to prevent a relative rotary movement between the chuck holder and the mounting device, wherein the latching means are radially movably mounted in the chuck holder and adapted to co-operate with recesses 24, 25 in the adjustment sleeve, when the chuck holder is in its outermost position the recess 25 allows relative rotation between the chuck holder and the mounting device thus cancelling the effect of the latching means. The recesses 24 may be substantially axially or obliquely arranged in the adjusting sleeve. Recess 25 has cams 26 which ensure rotation of the chuck holder when rotation of the mounting device is reversed at the end of a thread cutting operation.
