Abstract

1435673 Ice-making KING-SEELEY THERMOS CO 14 May 1974 [16 Aug 1973] 21297/74 Heading F4H Ice-making apparatus comprises a housing 12, an auger 14 rotatable within the housing and defining therebetween an ice-forming chamber 30 about which a refrigeration coil 32 is disposed, the ice passing to a discharge passage 84 formed in a discharge spout 54 and thereafter passing to a remote, predetermined location through a conduit 55 connected to the passage and the electrical supply to the apparatus is controlled by a device sensing the pressure conditions within the conduit. The control device comprises a back-pressure shut-off assembly 100 having a switch 102 in the supply circuit to the apparatus which is actuatable in response to movement of the conduit relative to the discharge passage on which it is coaxially mounted. The conduit end fits within the end of the passage and has a collar spring-urged into contact therewith, to which collar a linkage 104 is secured for movement therewith for operation of the switch. The supply circuit may be that to the augar motor or additionally to the refrigeration system.
