Abstract

1435515 Cutting apparatus SEND ENG Ltd 30 Aug 1973 [30 Aug 1972] 40263/72 Heading B4B A rotary trimmer comprises a fixed blade 2 and a rotary cutter 1 adapted to cut sheet material by a continuous scissors action, and a guard strip 3 of resiliently flexible material mounted to cover at least that part of the cutter which overlaps the fixed blade. The strip 3 may be extruded plastics material and is formed with a portion 16 which resiliently engages on side surface 9 of the fixed blade, the cutter running between the portion 16 and the surface 9. The strip is also formed with a foot portion 18 and a portion 6, 20 for attachment to the frame 7 of the trimmer. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the foot is in the form of a straight web (28).
