Abstract

1435155 Hedge trimmers and grass cutters ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 20 July 1973 [22 July 1972] 34733/73 Heading A1F A power driven tool accepts interchangeable cutting blades for hedge trimming and grass cutting. As shown, a hedge trimmer has a stationary blade 14' and a reciprocating blade 15' mounted on a power unit casing 2 by screws 12'. The blade 15' is reciprocated by a crank pin 3' on a disc 2' rotated by an electric motor. To obtain the different cutting strokes required by different cutting tools a series of holes 31', all of different pitch, diameter and eccentricity are provided in disc 2'. A crank pin 3' unique to its cutting tool and threaded hole 31' engages slot 25' and hence imparts the correct length of cutting stroke. A further embodiment comprising grass shears having one stationary blade and two movable blades is described wherein the movable blades pivot about two bearings.
