Abstract
1434974 Swimming pools L VARDEY 25 July 1973 35455/73 Heading A4N [Also in Divisions E1 and F4] A hollow solar heat exchange tile for use in heating the water of swimming pools is formed of synthetic plastics material and includes a water inlet 1 and an outlet 2. The floor of the tile rises towards the centre of the tile and is preferably of a pyramid configuration joined to the top of the tile. The top surface of the tile may be convex. The tiles are connected together by tubular connectors which are tapered towards each end for wedging in said inlets and outlets; the said ends being separated by a spacing ring. The array of tiles from a surround for the pool; the array being coupled to an inlet pipe 21 and an outlet pipe 22 near the pool bottom. Water circulates continually through the array by means of a pump 13. The tile may conveniently be 9" square and 1" thick, and may be formed either by a blow moulding process or by a centrifugal moulding process.
