Abstract

1434954 Electric connectors SQUARE D CO 3 July 1973 [20 July 1972] 31702/73 Heading H2E A crimping connector comprises a metal body with a recess 3 extending lengthwise along at least one of one pair of opposed sides, the sides of the recess consisting of arms 4, 5 with at least one arm having a tab 7 hinged thereto so that, in use, the tab 7 is swung into the recess to overlie a conductor to be connected in the recess, there being at least one void 11 extending from adjacent the centre of the base of the recess towards one of another pair of opposed sides of the body. The connector is made of aluminium and can accommodate a range of cable sizes; with small cables C1 the tab acts to fill as well as close the recess when the arms and tail are crimped, movement of the arms causing the cavities 11 to close.
