Abstract

1434489 Vehicle roofs VAN HOOL & ZONEN PVBA 1 April 1974 [2 April 1973] 14345/74 Heading B7B [Also in Division E2] In a roof support for a covered truck tubes 14 are enclosed at their ends in elastic clips 20 which are attached to the roof arches 8. As shown in Fig. 6 a rubber clip 20 is fitted in a support 15 which is welded to the pipe 9 of roof arch 8. A protrusion 21 of the clip projects into hole 17 of the support 15. The clip 20 further has a passage 24 opening into the ends and along the top of the clip which receives the end of tube 14. Weakenings such as notches 27, 28, and hollows 29, 30 facilitate easy entry of the tube ends. The supports 15 may be connected to arches 8 by means of bolts (37), Fig. 9 (not shown), and clip 20 may be bonded or vulcanized to the support 15. The clips may alternatively be made of spring steel material and may be attached directly to the arch 8.
