Abstract

1434413 Prosthetic feet J E HANGER & CO Ltd 18 June 1974 [18 June 1973] 28829 73 Heading A5R A prosthetic foot comprises a rigid polyurethane foam keel I with a balala spring toe 2 connected to it by screws 3, a T-bolt 4 through a central aperture in the keel; the transversely extending arms of which provide pivots for bearings 6 of a shin member base plate 7, a resilent rubber block 8 compressed and housed in a partial recess between the anterior parts of the base member and keel to provide cushioning, and a corresponding block 9 for the posterior parts. In a dual pivot version, Fig. 2 (not shown), the T-bolt provides for articulation at right angles to the axis of the pivot arms and its vertical leg, further cushioning being provided by rubber blocks compressed between the side parts of the base member and keel.
