Abstract

1434270 Rug cleaning machines GENERAL SIGNAL CORP 28 Dec 1973 [12 Jan 1973] 60087/73 Heading A4F A rug scrubbing machine comprises a scrubbing brush 30 rotatably mounted on a frame 10 supporting a brush driving motor 14, and tilting of the brush axis is variable by adjusting the mounting of a running wheel 24, which is carried by a bracket 23 adjustable, as by a rotary cam 28, about its pivotal mounting on the machine skirt 12b. The cam 28 has three notches 28a Fig. 3, (not shown), selectively engageable with a protuberance 26a on the bracket 23 so that the brush axis may be tilted in three predetermined positions. The brush 30 is detachably mounted on its drive spindle 18 to permit axial movement thereon, opposed slots 34 in the brush hub 32 engaging pins 36 on the spindle 18, and spring-biased ball detents 40 on the spindle 18 engaging in grooves 42 in the hub 32. In the illustrated embodiment two brushes 30 are provided.
