Abstract

1389703 Flow cleaning machines C & N ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Sept 1973 [23 Sept 1972] 44096/72 Heading A4F [Also in Division B3] A machine for scrubbing, polishing, sanding, or similarly treating a floor comprises a drive motor 10 mounted in a housing 14 having a depending skirt 16 with an annular internal surface, the motor shaft 11 being connected via an eccentric drive 13 to a circular carrier 12 for a treating element, whereby in use the carrier 12 performs an orbital movement about the shaft axis and during tilting of the machine engages the internal surface of the skirt 16 and rotates about its own axis whereby the tilting causes progression of the machine over a floor. A V-belt or ridge 20 on the skirt 16 may frictionally engage a groove 21 in the carrier 12, or the skirt and the carrier may have inter-engaging teeth.
