Abstract

1433479 Engine test stand LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 Oct 1973 [11 Aug 1972] 37522/72 Heading G1W A test stand for a gas turbine engine 10 comprises a bore 11 carrying a pair of spaced vertical reaction columns 12, 13, a platform 14 mounted from base 11 by stainless steel straps 15 which permit floating movement of the platform, a pair of uprights 16, 17 mounted on the platform 14 and supporting the engine 10 by means of a frame 20, and load cells 25, 26, each mounted between one of the uprights 16, 17 and a respective one of the reaction columns 12, 13. The load cells are carried by U-shaped brackets 23, 24 mounted on the uprights 16, 17, and are situated in the horizontal plane in which the axis of the engine lies.
