Abstract

1432820 Weighing vehicles D EYRE 13 March 1974 [5 Oct 1973] 46756/73 Heading G1W A device for weighing a vehicle comprises a beam 10 having an upper surface 14 across which a pair of the vehicle wheels may be driven, the beam 10 being supported on a pair of hydraulic load cells 21, 22 by means of roller bearings 26 which allow the beam to tilt about an axis 13 parallel to the length of the beam. The sum of the loads of cells 21, 22 is displayed at 25, and a marker 25A is pushed round by the pointer to indicate the maximum reading. Stops 19 limit tilting of the beam, and longitudinal movement of the beam is limited by a roller 33. In an alternative embodiment Figs. 4 to 6, (not shown) the roller bearings rest on the load cells which are situated below the beam.
