Abstract

1432358 Capsule feed mechanism LEIDSCHE APPARATENFABRIEK NV 7 Aug 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 44880/72 Heading B8T A cap supply mechanism consists of an endless conveyer 15 driven by a wheel 11 and guided by guide block 16 and 18 so that part of its locus coincides vertically with that of capping chucks situated on the rotary capping member 2 so forming the cap transfer station 19. The endless conveyer 15 is provided with a series of cap conveying discs 21 which may be freely rotatable on pivot tables 22. The guide blocks 16 and 18 are horizontally adjustable, the wheel 11 is likewise angularly adjustable and the whole cap supply assembly is vertically adjustable by the support frame 17 being fixed to the bearing, of wheel 11, which is keyed on to the drive shaft 10 of the supply disc (1), Fig. 1 (not shown). The drive means are such that the speed of the endless conveyer along the transfer station 19 is the same as that of the capping chucks along that part. The capping chucks remove the caps from the discs 21 and affix them to the bottles at a later stage. In an alternative embodiment, the wheel (31), Fig. 4, (not shown), is driven by an intermediate pinion (34) and the endless conveyer (30<SP>1</SP>) is tensioned by means of a horizontally adjustable pinion (40).
