[Class 125(ii)] Apparatus for filling, stoppering, capsuling and labelling bottles or the like, comprising filling, stoppering, capsuling and labelling machines and a bottle conveyer mounted on a common frame containing common drive means for the various devices, the bottles being passed one by one by the conveyer into the machines, is characterized by the conveyer being in the form of an endless chain, the active stretches of which are situated in a common horizontal plane, and by the common frame comprising at the top, under the conveyer, a tray for receiving liquid spilt from the filling machine or from broken bottles. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the filling machine T, the stoppering machine B and the capsuling machine C are mounted on a table having upturned edges 13, on a frame 2, fixed to the base 1, while the labelling machine E is mounted on a table on a frame 3, slidable on the base 1. The conveyer 9 runs around a sprocket 14 mounted on the frame 3, and a driving sprocket 15, fixed to the tank of the filling- machine, and rotating intermittently therewith. The conveyer is tensioned by nuts 10, rotation of which causes movement of the frame 3 relative to the frame 2. The machines are driven from an electric motor 5 through shafts 4 and 6, geared together by gears 7 and 8, one of which has wide teeth to allow movement of the frame 3 without disengagement of the gears. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, all the machines are mounted on a table carried by a common frame 2, and a safety device for the conveyer 9 is provided, consisting of a spring-loaded mounting for the sprocket 14; the adjustment of the tension of the conveyer is by two sprockets 40, one contacting either stretch thereof,. the separation of the sprockets being adjustable by a spindle 43 with reversed threads, running in the blocks 39 upon which they are mounted. The tank of the filling-machine T is driven intermittently from a cam having a double groove, part of which is helical and the remainder circular, which engages rollers 29 carried by a disc 27 fixed to the shaft 22 of the tank.
