Abstract

1432151 Vehicle bumper STOREY BROS & CO Ltd 22 Jan 1974 [6 Feb 1973] 5886/73 Heading B7J A vehicle bumper 10 comprises an outer shaped cover 12 of flexible polyurethane film, consisting of a shaped outer post 14 made by vacuum forming and a rear part 16 joined to the part 14 by high frequency welds 18, 20 and attachable to a vehicle, the cover 12 enclosing a resilient polyurethane foam filling 22, the rear part 16 being provided with holes 24 through which fixing bolts can be passed to engage threaded metal plates or nuts 26 embedded in the filling 22. The foamable mixture can be inserted through the holes 24 or formed with the part 14 in a mould before the part 16 is joined thereto.
