Abstract

1432114 Boxes MILES LABORATORIES Inc 26 April 1974 [30 May 1973] 18449/74 Heading B8P [Also in Division G1] Unitary organoplastic apparatus providing chambers such as 20 to 25 for use in laboratory testing or in cell or tissue culture is capable of being frangibly separated into a plurality of individual segments 27, 28 and has a generally planar base with a top and a bottom surface and at least one straight groove extending edge to edge in the bottom surface and extending towards the upper surface, each groove providing a locus for frangible separation of the base into its segments, each frangible member being reinforced by at least one solid integral rib member 30, (31) which extends transversely to the groove and depends from its upper portion. Fig. 5 shows the underside of the apparatus of another embodiment in which individual chambers are separable from the assembly, frangible members between adjacent pairs of chambers each having a reinforcing rib member.
