Abstract

1431869 Bearings C ROB HAMMERSTEIN GmbH 11 June 1974 [23 Aug 1973] 25804/74 Heading F2A A slide rail guide comprises an inner rail 1 of substantially U-shaped cross-section and outwardly directed flanges 3, a substantially C- shaped outer rail 4 engaging around the flanges and spaced therefrom, rod-shaped plastics slide members 7 accommodated in the spaces between the flanges 3 and the outer rail and secured to one of the rails, and substantially cylindrical metal support rollers 8, each of which is provided with a circumferential groove on either side in which an elastomeric ring 11 is inserted, the said rings being in contact with marginal regions of the base 9 of the inner rail and having a cross-section and modulus of elasticity such that in the unstressed condition of the guide the substantially cylindrical circumferential surfaces of the rollers are raised clear of the bases of the rails on which they roll. The cross-section of the grooves may be rectangular; that of the elastomeric rings may be round, or rectangular with a rounded outer corner. The members 7 may be retained in the outer rail by projections 14 engageable in recesses in the margin 6 of the rails 4. The projections may be provided with tongues 16 united to form a lip extending over substantially the length of the outer rail. The slide members may be integrally interconnected by thin-walled bridges extending along and lying flat against the limbs and the base of the rails 4 and disposed at the end and in the centre thereof. The centre bridge is located by a projection engaging a recess in the base of the rail 4.
