Abstract

1431763 Fluidised bed distributors and boiler apparatus PLESSEY CO LTD 23 March 1973 [6 April 1972] 15793/72 Heading B1F [Also in Division F4] Fluidised bed boiler apparatus comprises a water container e.g. jacket 64A and the upper row of pipes 70, for water to be heated by the fluidised bed, and a bed support with baffles e.g. the upper baffles 68, which prevent particles of the fluidised bed from falling through the spaces between the lower baffles. A gas burner may be provided in trough 78. The bed support may alternatively be as shown in Fig. 2 with single curved baffles or the baffles may be conical. The bed particles may be silicon carbide, silicon nitride, sand or metallic.
