Abstract

Ejector comprises a conduit with a horizontal portion or head and a vertical tube. Air is introduced into a distributor, with a series of short pipes, from which it rises to the head of the ejector. The air reduces the density of the material in the head which rises above the level of the liq in the settlement tank; the settled sludge is thus brought into a collecting zone or trough and removed. The device operates over a wide output range and generates a uniform flow in the horizontal part of the ejector. Shallower tanks than usual may be used. The horizontal part of the ejector may be divided into individual segments, each having a connection with the distributor.
