Abstract

1431241 Web tensioning devices MASCHINENFABRIK WIFAG 12 Feb 1974 [27 Feb 1973] 06358/74 Heading B8R A web tensioning device comprises a pair of web feed rollers 1, 3, at least one of which has a resilient surface, pressed towards each other by a piston 8 which is movable in a cylinder and articulated to the roller 3, the displacement of the piston for the purpose of regulating the tension in web B being controlled by a biased dancer roller 10 opening or closing valves 15, 16 connected to a valve 17 which in turn is connected to the cylinder. In operation the rollers are driven at a speed VT which is smaller than the speed VV of the web B. The difference between speeds corresponds to the selected web tension.
