Abstract

1430015 Exhaust gas treatment HITACHI Ltd 10 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 17195/73 Heading C1A [Also in Division B1] A combustible gas containing carbon, e.g. carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and partially oxidized hydrocarbons, are removed from exhaust gases, e.g. from I.C. engines or boilers, by contact at 150-1100‹ C. with a sintered metal oxide composition of the general formula A 2-x B x NiO 4 , wherein A is at least one of La, Nd, Pr, Sm or Y; B is at least one of Ca, Sr and Ba; and x is zero or a number up to 1À8. The catalyst composition may be supported on a ceramics material such as alumina, silica, zirconia, magnesia or thoria.
