Abstract

1429812 Partitions STEELCASE Inc 14 March 1973 [14 March 1972] 2451/75 Divided out of 1429811 Heading E1W Movable partitioning comprises partition sections 30 joined to each other by top links 70, each with two legs 71, 72, the two ends of one leg 72 being attached to one section, and the outer end of the other leg 71 being attached to the adjacent section. Bolts 74 enter captive nuts 25 fixed to hollow vertical framing members 11, and a pin 73 depending from the link can enter either of the endmost slots 26 of a hollow top framing member 14. Lower links 7 (Fig. 13) are bolted through the middle but have a depending spigot 25a extending through a hole in one leg. Replaceable panels 30 are clipped to a cross-member 18 of the section framework, backing and strengthening studs 32 of different depths being provided for facing sheets 31 of different thicknesses. Top clips 36 interconnect opposed facing sheets. Top, side, and bottom trim pieces 40, 60 and 110 and 120 are provided, the latter covering the base area between feet 80. The end cover 110 comprises telescoping parts with wiring cut-outs, and levelling bolts 88 are provided in each foot 80.
