Abstract

An office partition of aluminium comprises a connection upright beam 50 and a frame assembly 3 made up of upright beams 30, outer cross beams 10, inner cross beams 40, and a face board which is provided on the back side thereof with a plurality of reinforcing pieces for stengthening the face board and with a plurality of retaining hooks engageable with slots 43 of the inner cross beams 40. The connection upright beam 50 has a plurality of hooks 51 engageable with a plurality of hook retainers 32 of the upright beams 30. <IMAGE>

Description

AN OFFICE PARTITION MADE OF ALUMINIUM The present invention relates generally to an office partition, and more particularly to an office partition which is made of an aluminium material and simple in construction.
There are many different forms of office partitions available in the market today. However, these conventional office partitions are not so well designed that they can not be set up easily and quickly.
According to the present invention, there is provided an office partition comprising a frame assembly and connection upright beams. The frame assembly is composed of two upright beams, two outer cross beams, two inner cross beams, and a face board. The office partition of the present invention is characterized in that the face board is provided on the back side thereof with a plurality of reinforcing pieces and two retaining means engageable with two slots of the two inner cross beams of the frame assembly, and that the conncetion upright beam is provided with a plurality of hooks corresPonding in location to and engageable with a plurality of hook retainers of the upright beams of the frame assembly.
For a better understanding of the Present invention, and to show the way how the same may be carried into effect, reference will now be made, by way of example, to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the present invention, Figure 2 shows another perspective view of the present invention, Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the frame assembly of the present invention, Figure 4 shows a sectional view of the face board of the present invention, and Figure 5 is a sectional view showing that the face board engages the frame assembly, according to the present invention.
Referring to Figures 1-5, the frame assembly 3 embodied in the present invention is shown comprising two upright beams 30, two outer cross beams 10, two inner cross beams 40, one face board 60, a front cover plate 23, a side cover plate 20, and an upper cover plate 25. The number of outer cross beams 10, upright beams 30 and inner cross beams is dependent on the size of the frame assembly 3, which is made of aluminium. The office partition of the present invention is formed by combining the frame assembly 3 and the connection upright beam 50.
Each of the upright beams 30 of a predetermined length is provided with a plurality of small through holes 31 and large through holes 34. In addition, each upright beam 30 is provided with a plurality of hook retainers 32 having a projection 33 facing outwards.
Each outer cross beam 10 has a U-shaped cross section and a predetermined length; it is provided respectively in both sides thereof with a groove 13, a protuberance 12, and a plurality of threaded holes 11. The outer cross beam 10 is fastened to the small through holes 31 of the upright beam 30.
Each inner cross beams 40 is of a hollow construction and provided respectively in both sides thereof with a pair of T-shaPed Protruded edges 41 forming a slot 43. In addition, each inner cross beam 40 is provided with a plurality of threaded holes 42 for fastening with the upright beam 30. Furthermore, each inner cross beam 40 is provided with an inverted angular face 44.
The face board 60 is made integrally and provided on the back side thereof with a plurality of reinforcing ribs 66 and reinforcing pieces 65 for preventing the deformation of the face board 60. In addition, the face board 60 is Provided on the back side thereof with a Plurality of retaining hooks 61 engageable with the slot 43 of the inner cross beam 40. For aesthetic effect, a flannel 63 is attached to the face board 60 by means of pins 64.
The connection upright beam 50 has a sectoral cross section and is of a hollow construction. In addition, the connection upright beam 50 is provided with two hooks 51 and a plurality of large through holes 53. The hooks 51 of the connection upright beam 50 are engageable with the hook retainers 32 of the upright beam 30 for forming an L-shaped office partition.
Another embodiment of the present invention is provided with a T-shaped connection upright beam 54 of a hollow construction. The T-shaped connection upright beam 54 is provided with two hooks 51 engageable with the hook retainers 32 of the upright beam 30 for forming a T-shaped office partition.
The outer cross beams 10, the inner cross beams 40 and the upright beams 30 are fastened together by means of nuts and bolts (not shown in the drawings). The connection upright beam 50 is fastened to the upright beams 30 to form an L-shaped office partition. The face board 60 is fastened to the inner cross beams 40 by means of retaining hooks 61 which engage the slots 43 of the inner cross beams 40. Finally, the upper cover plate 25 is fastened to the top of the outer cross beam 10 while the side cover plate 20 is fastened to the upright beam 30. The front cover Plate 23 is fastened to the front side of the outer cross beam 10. The connection upright beam 50 is provided with a beam cover 52 and a plurality of protective shields 21 and 22 which are fastened to the sharp edges to safeguard the office workers. The office partition of the present invention can be so set up that it does not make a direct contact with the floor by means of adjustment bolts 24 engageable with the threaded holes 11 of the outer cross beams 10. The large through holes 34 and 53 are intended for use in Putting the telephone cords therethrough.

Claims (4)

1. An office partition of aluminium comprising a connection upright beam and a frame assembly made up of upright beams, outer cross beams, inner cross beams, and a face board which is provided on the back side thereof with a plurality of reinforcing pieces for strengthening said face board and with a plurality of retaining hooks engageable with slots of said inner cross beams, said connection upright beam having a plurality of hooks engageable with a plurality of hook retainers of said upright beams.
2. An office partition of aluminium according to claim 1, wherein said connection upright beam and said upright beams are provided respectively with a plurality of large through holes.
3. An office partition of aluminium according to claim 1, wherein said face board is made integrally.
4. An office partition of aluminium substantially as described hereinbefore with reference to the accompanying drawings.
